"My collections are the story of a dream, created in a place where reality touches the surreal. Clever silhouettes adorn those illusions, fashion becomes a character within. Inspiration comes mostly from the dark or the magic. Often, I will try to metamorphose feelings into shapes, into textures, into ideas that will decorate people's behaviour or be the expression tool for people's personas.
After all, what is fashion for, but an instrument to demonstrate who we are, to excel our own self-expression to surpass us and show the world the strong opinions we have."
ARTIST BIOGRAPHY
Oscar Mendoza is a Canadian-Mexican designer based in Montreal. With a background in Visual Arts and Sound Design, he enrolled in the Fashion Pattern Making program at Montreal's Lasalle College and took classes with known Montreal designer Joseph Helmer. Mendoza launched his eponymous brand with the vision to design and fabricate unique pieces that compliment and give distinction to the contemporary man and woman's wardrobe.
